CRI PUMPS FULL FORM – THE STORY BEHIND

Krishnaswamy Gopal studied only till class 8 and began to work in the factory of PSG Industrial Company in Coimbatore in Tamilnadu. His father was a humble farmer with very little worldly treasure. It was in the early 1950s that a lot of small foundry unit has come up in Coimbatore.

He was a very sharp mind person since his childhood and learned the art of trade quickly. In the year 1961, K Gopal set up a small unit to manufacture valves for Pumps and named it as “Rajendra Industries and C”, where Rajendra is named after the great Chola King and the letter C stands for Coimbatore, which was later shortened to CRI Industrials.

So the full form of CRI Pumps is Coimbatore Rajendra Industries. But the real full form of CRI pumps according to company’s ethics and what the employees stands for are Commitment, Reliability, & Innovation.

In 1980, K Gopal passed away at a young age of 50. He had 3 sons, namely Velumani, Sounderajan, and Rajendran.
