Ekki Pumps – History

In 1981, Mr. K.K Veluchamy, Mr. M.S Sundaram, and Mr. P. Arumugam started Deccan pumps and began to produce submersible pumps. All the promoters come from an agricultural families, so they understand the farmer’s needs.
In 1982, each partner contributed INR 30,000 to manufacture submersible pumps for the farmer. It started from a rented space with 9 employees.
They always emphasize innovation and developed 5″ borehole pumps in 1984, the first of its kind in India.
In the year 1986, it was able to obtain BIS certification for bore well pumps.
In 1990, Deccan trading company started to distribute Finolex Cables.
In 1995, Mr. M.S Sundaram expired, and the other two founders became the Company’s sole owners.
In the year 1996, Deccan Pumps officially came into existence.
In the year 1997, Company started 100 mm Noryl Pumps.
In the year 1998, Company started VOS open-well submersible pumps.
In the year 2000, Company started to export to Gulf countries.
In the year 2006, Company started an engineering college.

He is the man behind the driving seat of this Company. He is also a founder of an engineering college.

Mr. Kanishka Arumugam is the Co-CEO of Ekki Pumps, Deccan Pumps, and Ekki Homa Pvt. Ltd.
He is an Engineering graduate and has an MBA.
He worked in Xylem Water Solutions before joining his family business.
He also serves as a board member of various organizations.
