Stanley William Otto Menzel started this company in the year 1930. He named it Industrial Plastics Ltd. (IPL), and later, his son Bill Menzel suggested adding EX at the end for branding purposes. Hence, it became Iplex Pipes.
By the year 1962, it became a formidable force in the field of plastic pipes.
In the year 1980, he started the Plastic Pipe manufacturing company Rib Loc Group Ltd. He was the CEO and chairman till the year 1985.
He exported his products to more than 30 countries.
He had more than 40 Patents credited to his name.
He died in the year 2001 due to cancer.
Since 2011, Iplex Pipes has become a part of the Australia Stock Exchange (ASE) listed company Fletcher Building Group.
Fletcher Building Group is a giant and has a presence in Australia, New Zealand and other countries.
