Shakti Pumps India Limited was started in the year 1982 by the Patidar of Rau in the Indore city in Madhya Pradesh. In the initial days, it manufactured submersible pumps and electric panel.
In the year 1995, Shakti Pumps India Limited went for an Initial Public Offer (IPO) for an issue amount of Rs. 5 Crore.
The company began to manufacture stainless steel submersible pumps and began to export also to other developed countries.
